StudioSGM.com is an online portfolio of creative
web design. Some of the examples on this web
site are of web or graphic design done while
working at various companies, the remainder
have been created for private clients.
I
started off my design career in 1995 at Jax-inter.net
where I was initially employed to create graphics
for web and print. This quickly extended to
include web design, implementing corporate
web pages, creating internal web sites and
training clients to make the best use of their
web sites. Jax-inter.net was bought by Leading.net
in 1997. Leading.net was subsequently bought
by FDN in Jacksonville, Florida.
In
April 1997, I joined a small web design agency,
Computer Research & Consulting, www.crci.net.
I specialized in web design and acquired valuable
experience working with tight deadlines and
limited budgets.
In
October 1997, I joined Auglink Communications
in St. Augustine, FL. While at Auglink I was
responsible for Creative Services and redesigned
and reorganized their sister web site, OldCity.com.
I
used this site to explore various techniques
and experiment with search engine optimization
while trying to provide an informative all encompassing
guide to St. Augustine. I truly believe good
usability and search engine optimization are
paramount - a successful web site takes these
factors into account at every stage of the design
process.
I
also became the Director of Web Services for
Auglink and OldCity where we designed, developed
and hosted hundreds of web sites. OldCity.com
and OldCity Web Services became so popular
that Auglink decided to incorporate OldCity
as it's own company.
In 2007 I started working at Flagler Hospital
as their Web Developer. I designed and maintained
the hospital's intranet (internal website)
"My Flagler" where employees
could get information regarding weather, lunch
menu, policies and procedures, department
information, "Have you been Snapped"
monthly photo section, message board, form
center, latest news section and much more.
